Ptitim
(Hebrew:
פתיתים) is a kind of grilled paste shaped like a grain of rice or a small ball
developed in Israel in the 1950s when rice was scarce. Outside Israel, the
dishes are sometimes marketed as Israeli couscous or Jerusalem couscous. In
Israel, the dish is known as "Ben-Gurion rice" (Hebrew: אורז בן-גוריון
órez Ben-Gurion).
