Havarti is
a semi-soft textured cheese from cow's milk from Denmark. The name of this
cheese comes from a farm in Denmark where Hanne Nielsen makes this cheese for
the first time. This cheese is a finer version of Tilsit cheese and has some
similarities especially in its pale yellow color.
Havarti cheese is often
served with sandwiches. Because of its high fat content then this cheese is
good for baking and can melt well. The American version of this cheese is added
with spices such as cumin, pepper, and others.
