Gloucester is
a hard-textured cheese from the county of Gloucestershire in England made with
raw cow's milk. There are two variants for Gloucester cheese namely Gloucester
Single and Double Gloucester.
Single Gloucester has a
smaller size, made from skim milk and consumed when the cheese is still young.
Meanwhile, Double Gloucester is made using full milk [cream]] and has a fragile
texture.
Double Gloucester cheese has
an old orange color and a sharp taste. The cheese is used every spring for a
competition called Cooper's Hill Cheese Rolling and Wake held at Cooper's Hill
in Gloucestershire. Participants from the competition must catch the Double
Gloucester cheese wheel rolled from the top of the valley.
