Begomovirus
(from bean golden mosaic virus) is one of the genera of twin particle virus
(gemini virus or Geminiviridae). Plant viruses with single ring beam DNA are
responsible for many plant diseases that cause major economic losses, such as
jaundice in nuts (especially Phaseolus), tomatoes, and chili. The virus is
easily spread because it is carried by the white fly Bemisia tabaci pests (or
other species) as vectors that have many host plants.
