Vorschmack or
forshmak (from the German arcaik Vorschmack, "fortaste" or "appetizer")
is an Eastern European dish made of marinated fish or minced meat. Different
variants of the dish are particularly common in Ashkenazi and Finnish Jewish
cuisine. Some varieties are also known in Russian and Polish cuisine.
