Tonic
water or Indian tonic water is a carbonated soft drink
containing quinine that tastes a bit bitter. This soda-flavored beverage was
originally made to treat malaria.
Tonic water is mainly used
as a cocktail mixer, especially gin and tonic. Manufacturers of soft drinks
also make sweetened tonic water and a little lemon perisa. Tonic water brands
such as Schweppes, Canada Dry, and Q Tonic.
