Tauhue
(Hanzi: 豆花, hanyu pinyin: douhua), in Indonesia more commonly known
by the name tahwa or kembang tahu, is a traditional small Chinese snack. Tauhue
is a commonly spoken Hokkian dialect among Chinese-Indonesians. Tauhue is a
popular snack in Tainan, Taiwan.
Tauhue is closely related to
tofu because the materials and manufacturing methods are almost identical.
These foods are also called pudding tofu or soy pudding. Tauhue is very popular
in southern China, usually served along with sugar water. In Taiwan, tauhue is
usually served with red beans, lime juice to add variety of flavors.
