Taboon
bread (Arabic: خبز طابون) is a Middle Eastern flat bread. The
dish is also called (Hebrew: לאפה) la-fah, (Hebrew: פיתה עירקית) Iraqi ribbon,
and in Jerusalem: (Hebrew: אַשתנוּר) ash-furnace. Taboon bread is a wrap used
in some dishes. This type of flat bread is usually baked in a Tabun toaster and
eaten with different stuffing.
Taboon bread is sold as
street food, filled with hummus, falafel or shawarma. Taboon bread is a staple
food of Middle Eastern cuisine around the world.
