Tabbouleh
(Arabic: تبولة tabūlah, also tabouleh or tab (b) ouli) is an Arabian Middle
Eastern vegetarian dish (sometimes considered a salad) usually made of
tomatoes, parsley, mint, bulgur and spring onions, and seasoned with olive oil,
lemon juice, and salt. Some variations add garlic or lettuce, or use couscous
instead of bulgur.
Tabbouleh is usually served
as part of a mezze in the Arab world. Its variations were made by Turks and
Armenians, and became a popular ethnic food in Western culture.
