shame - www.healthnote25.com |
Shame is
one form of human emotion. Shame has diverse meanings, that is an emotion,
understanding, statement, or condition experienced by a human being due to an
action he has done before, and then wants to cover it up. Shy persons naturally
want to hide from others because of feelings of discomfort if their actions are
known to others.
In some books, such as Stephen
Pattison's Shame: Theory, Therapy, Theology by Stephen Pattison and Shame:
Exposed Self by Michael Lewis, shame is identical to the feelings of Eve in the
Garden of Eden when she breaks God's command not to eat Kuldi fruit about good
and evil knowledge.
At that moment Eve was
ashamed that she realized she was naked after she committed a sin, eating the
fruit of the kuldi which was forbidden by God Himself.
