Mengkudu (Morinda citrifolia) or keumeudee (Aceh); pace, kemudu, kudu (Java); cangkudu (Sunda); kodhuk (Madura); Tibah (Bali) originated in Southeast Asia, belonging to the Rubiaceae family. Other names for this plant are noni (Hawaii), nono (Tahiti), nonu (Tonga), ungcoikan (Myanmar) and ach (Hindi).

This plant grows in the lowlands up to an altitude of 1500 m. High mengkudu tree reach 3-8 m, has white flower node. The fruit is a compound, which is young and shiny green and has spots, and when it is old white with black spots.

Traditionally, the people of Aceh using the fruit mengkudu as vegetables and rujak. The leaves are also used as one of the nicest peugaga materials that often appear as a mandatory menu to break the fast. Therefore, mengkudu is often planted near the houses in rural areas in Aceh. In addition mengkudu also often used as a medicine.
