Button mushrooms (Agaricus bisporus), mushroom compost or champignon is a mushroom food that is almost round shape like buttons and white, clean, cream, or light brown. Button mushrooms are the most cultivated mushrooms in the world.
In English is called as table mushroom, white mushroom, common mushroom or cultivated mushroom. In France it is called champignon de Paris, but English speakers often refer to it as a champignon which in French includes all kinds of fungi, including food mushrooms, poisonous mushrooms, and infectious fungi.
Button mushrooms are harvested when still 2-4 cm in diameter. The body of an adult fruit with an already blooming umbrella has a diameter of up to 20 cm.
