Börek
(Turkish pronunciation: [bøɾek], also burek and other variants) is a grilled
pastry family made of a kind of dough known as phyllo (or yufka), which is
found in the cuisine of the former Ottoman Empire. Börek can be served in a
large tray or cut into sections after baking, or as individual pastries. The
top of the börek is often sprinkled with sesame.
