The pronounced baroncong [baróncoŋ] is the name of a traditional cake
typical of Makassar City, South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. This type of cake
has a savory taste, its shape is like a bow or a semicircle, or similar to a
Pie Cake.
The ingredients of this cake
are wheat flour, granulated sugar, grated young coconut, and flavor enhancer.
This cake is baked in a mold and the fire comes from firewood. The other name
of this cake is Guroncong or Buroncong in Bugis Language version. These cakes
are generally easy to find in the morning, especially in the Losari Beach area.
The price ranges from Rp.1.500 - Rp. 3,000.
